Custom iProperties carrying over to derived components?

We have a standard set of custom iProperties for all parts we fabricate and, with a few exceptions, these parts are derived components of the part's die sketch. Currently we have to either fill these in on a per part or sometimes a batch of parts basis as we fabricate them. I was wondering if there was a way to have these custom iProperties carried over from the original component sketch so we can eliminate/shorten a step? I have tried a few times to do this following our general workflow but it doesn't work.

If it helps, the workflow for a part is as follows:

Create new part in Inventor -> start sketch -> paste die profile from AutoCAD -> save & close part ->  start new part -> derive component -> extrude & apply features -> apply custom iProperties for part & save-> create part drawing (which has fields that fill from the custom iProperties)

Small update, I did forget to mention that some parts get put into an assembly (as a base part), but I doubt iProperties can be carried over from a placed part file?

Hi! Only exported parameters (also listed as custom iProperties) are carried over to the derive part. Other non-parameter based iProperties are not carry over unfortunately. You could use an iLogic rule to do that though. Essentially, the rule needs to fine the derive source part and then copy those properties over to the derived part.

Many thanks!

Much appreciated for the information. I will have to start looking into iLogic between projects.
