Custom BOM views

Hi everyone,

I hope all of you are well and healthy.

I was curious as I am looking if there is a way to add a custom BOM view just like the "model data", "structured" and "parts only". The reason why I'm looking for this is as we had a discussion with the production that when we release a pack of drawings, they would like an excel containing the amount "to-be-manufactured" by each drawing. Of course it says this in the assembly drawing but we also would like to reduce extra hand work to create custom bom lists by hand. It would be nice to just select a bomlist structure in the main assembly setup with our custom iproperties.

Anyone who knows anything about this. We do use all 3 bom types but we'd like to have a 4th option.

As you know, Inventor does not have good/any out-of-the-box tools to create this type of Manufacturing or Purchasing BOM.  

Typically 3rd party software, like ERP, a custom add-in, or ilogic code is used to produce the output you want.

I'd take a look in the Autodesk App Exchange or in the Inventor Customization forum to see what is available.

Your reseller might have a custom solution division that could write something that matches your company's workflow.

Hi! Like Steve mentioned here, there aren't out-of-box workflows to do that. Here is a list of BOM related apps on Inventor App store.

Yeah, I thought it would be something like that. I hoped there might been a chance for something or a way to create something like that. Thanks for your quick answers 😄 I'll head over to the app store and have a gander at the options 🙂
