Custom balloon shape size

I've been creating some balloon styles lately, with the differences from the standard styles being the shape of the balloon, the property that's shown in it and the fact that It's hatched. I've managed to create custom balloon shapes using sketch symbols and this works great, except for the fact that I can't seem to figure out how to make the balloon stretch with the text.

Is there a way to make the balloon size dependent on the length of the text?

Or, if this isn't possible, is there a way to use the standard shapes but have them hatched somehow?

Hi Mathijs,

Yes, this is controlled in the Balloon style. Go to Styles Editor -> find the Balloon style -> Symbol Size -> uncheck "Scale to Text Height" and "Stretch Balloon to Text." Then the balloon size can be explicitly controlled.

I think I haven't made myself clear very well. I don't want to uncheck "Scale to Text Height" and "Stretch Balloon to Text", because that's exactly what I would like to achieve, that the balloon scales and stretches to my text.

With the default balloon shapes I can check this and that works perfectly. But when I assign a custom balloon shape to my style those checkboxes are greyed out.

Hi Mathijs,

I am sorry I misunderstood your request. Then I don't believe there is a way to control its relative sizing. Those options don't apply to custom balloons unfortunately.

Has there been any movement on providing the stretch feature to user defined symbols?

As far as I'm aware there haven't been any updates on this.
