Creating Work Planes Perpendicular to An Axis

This isn't so much a question as a request for verication as to whether I did this the easiest way possible.

I created an axis at a wierd angle thru a part and needed to create an extrusion along the axis. I was having problems creating a plane to sketch on perpendicular to the axis. I discovered a way to do it by accident. I created a work plane thru the axis and an EXISTING PLANE then had to delete the perpendicular constraint to the EXISTING PLANE which left the plane no choice but to rotate perpendicular to the end of the axis. I then made my extrusion sketch and created my extrusion. There should be a more obvious way to do this - but hey it worked 😃

Click workplane tool and then press F1, this will show you how to create
workplanes.
