Creating a flat or 2D spiral sweep path

I'm trying to create a flat spiral sweep path on a surface with a 1/2" offset between turns to cut a groove in a plate.  The coil function is close but I don't need the vertical portion.

Can you Attach the *.ipt file of your "close, but not quite" attempt?

Before I spend time on this - are you aware of the Spiral Type of Coil?

I could not find this function or instructions on how to do it.
