created a cycle !!!!

I made a part and then, I mirrored the solid and then, saved it as a separate part. Seemed OK. Then I attempted to place the part in an assembly and the cycle error appeared and I was unsuccessful. I read some of the other solutions to this similar problem but, i was unclear on what they meant. I am a single user and I do not have an ifactory that I know of. Any thoughts??

Thank You

Start a new part file.

Manage>Derived Component.

Select the original part and set to Mirror.

Save with appropriate name (not the same as original part as it is not the same as the original part.)

There are at least two other alternative techniques.

After considering giving the information on the other two techniques - I recommend that you zip the files and Attach here before I give the other techniques.  Let's see what you have.

Hi Thaddeus,

This sounds like either a bug or an incompatible workflow. There should be a logical reason to explain it. Please share the files here.

Many thanks!

Do you need just the part and the assembly or do you need all the part files? There are quite a few parts.

 Thank You
