create void with multiple objects

Hi,

I created a very complex geometry and now i want to do a cfd simulation.

For this i want to create the windtunnel with inventor and put the windtunnel and the geometry in an assembly. There I want to subtract the geometry from the windtunnel that there is a hollow in it.

Afterwards I want to cut the windtunnel in half, becouse the geometrie is a symmetric object, and it is enought if i only simulate one side of it.

Can you please tell me how to subtract a solid part of another, bigger solid part?

And can you tell me how I can make this assembly back to a normal part to cut it in half?

Thank you!!!

Please notice: I already know how to put the geometrie in autodesk cfd and create the windtunnel there. But I don´t want to do it this way.

Hi!

I gave solution for this info in this post:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/quot-submerging-quot-a-part-in-another-part/m-p/744556...

Tip, you dont have to model the wind tunnel to do this... just the "tube of air" that circulate inside the tunnel.
