Hi @EmreYucel34, do you mean you want to do the nesting for the dwg blocks you attached?

Hi Willson, yes what I want to do is exactly as you mentioned, I want to make Nestin in DWG, I can also do it by exploding dynamic blocks with explode but I haven't done it, I need help, thanks for your support

@EmreYucel34, I checked the dwg file you attached, there are several blocks in one DWG file. If we use this DWG file to do the nesting, there will be:

  • multiple nest shapes in one file then. I tried to add this DWG file as the source for nesting, there will prompt warnings to indicate multiple shapes. (It will be better to have one DWG has one block.)
  • And for the geometries in the blocks, except the inner/outer lines, there are also some other geometries, like cross lines (to indicate the arc center), that will result in the warnings of shapes are not closed.
  • There are also some texts which are not shown correctly. But this will not affect the nesting result.
  • The nesting result I get looks correct. Not sure if this is what you expected.

I'd like to show you a video for this if you want see the detail steps.

Hi @EmreYucel34, I just uploaded two videos for that.
The first video is using the attached dnm.dwg directly to do the nesting.

The second video is I split the blocks in dnm.dwg into different dwg files, and also removed the text and lines for marks. Then use these files to do the nesting.

Please take a look and see if this meets your expectations.

Thanks!

Willson

Hi Willson, I did it exactly as in the video but it didn't work for me, I wonder why, do we need to do it in another setting?

@EmreYucel34, no extra settings. Just watched your video. No sheet node is generated under the nest node. Which means there is no result for it.

You may hover the mouse on the nest node to see the warnings. And I'm guessing it might be caused by the packaging size you set is tool small? (I'm using 210inx190in)
