The basics:
Inventor 2013 SP1.1 (Issue)
Inventor 2011 SP2 (No Issue)
Templates have been coverted up from 2011, keeping copies of the old templates in separate folders all under the same parent directory.
Have 2013 mapped to the folder with updated templates located on a network drive. Total of 18 temolates including the standard templates.
Computer specs:
Win 7 Pro 64bit Service Pack 1
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.66GHz
8GB Ram
NVIDIA Quadro 2000
The Issue:
I start Inventor 2013 or open an .ipt/.iam ect. I now want to create a new file so I click the "New" Icon.
Inventor freezes for 10-15seconds and finally shows the templates.
After that if you click on any of the templates it freezes instantly. Or if you scroll the browser bar down to navigate the folder. 15-35 seconds
After selecting the correct template it freezes for about 15 seconds.
For those keeping track
Thats 40-65 seconds just to open a drawing...
For Inventor 2011.
Click, Click, Click. Open
Takes maybe 5 seconds.
Any Ideas what causes this?
We have copied and upgraded the 2011 templates (they are in a folder named Inventor Templates 2010. Need to change the name....It is our old folder name still.)
2013 is mapped to this folder which is upgraded.
So some of my co-workers computers Create New File looks like this Dialog box:
The only thing I'm concerned about is the browser on the left hand side. Notice they don't have the whole browser.
They aren't experiencing this huge lag issue and it seems like when we upgraded to the new inventor it is 50/50 who has the work version.
Does anyone know how to change this?
Hello,
Some users experiment some buds with creat new file and template on a network drive. refer to this thread:
Did you install the Update 1 of SP1.1 wich should fix this issue?
If yes, try to map you project with UNC path (\\Server\...\template) instead of network drive (K:\DWG...). For me it works better...
regards,
John.
Any bad shortcuts (lnk files) that are pointing to a location it can't find?
