Is there a way to create a hexagon hole with the hole feature?
We use a lot of blind rivet nuts in frames and instead of having to draw the hexagons.

I woud like to copy the contours of the body that needs to be bolted to the frame.

And then use the hole feature to create the hexagon holes.

When in your sketch, R.Click & select 'Place Feature'. You can find the Hex Hole feature & set the depth and size.

Do i have to create the hex feature myself and save it in a folder where i can find it?
We are still working in Inventor 2022 if that makes a difference.

Ah, maybe you don't have access to that feature. I'm working in Inv.2023, I just opened the old Inv.2022 version & can't see the 'place feature' option.

Time to upgrade?

Place Feature (in 2023) gives me a whole range of shapes to use. It's part of the Content Centre, maybe that wasn't loaded to your installation. Unfortunately someone else will have to advise if it should be there.

In Inventor 2022, after you click on place feature clear the filters.

Then expand the browser English or Metric.

Sometimes you just need a good old reboot.

Place feature had been available for a very long time. If I am not mistaken - earlier than IV2010. But here is a screen shot from IV2020.

Cheers,

Igor.
