Create Blind Hole Bolted Connection without Creating New holes in Parts

I am trying to create a blind hole bolted connection using the component generator. Can you turn off the function that creates the new holes? The two parts I am trying to bolt together already have existing holes, I just need to connect them.Bolted Connection.pngBolted Connection.png

Hi,

Try to make new bolts using pattern command on assemble tab. This command have a defect that doesn´t make the holes. Maybe you can use this on your favor. Take a look at the pictures below.

My method to do what you are asking is "..." beside the lower hole, in my case both holes, and modify the parameters so they are not created.  See the screencast for the process.  Sometimes you will get a warning about the Bolted Connection during creation, I did not, just accept it and move on.  There is only one small issue that shows up on my "Gasket" part.  The Bolted Connection added a sketch to the part which can very easily be turned off.

Hello,

I am not sure what is wrong - it is as designed if a component doesn't have an existing hole then Bolted Connection creates a new hole. Could you provide me your assembly to check  the Bolted Connection behavior on your data-set.

thank you a lot

Since you already have holes in both parts then I just wouldn't use the bolted connection generator but instead just place the bolts/washers/nuts,etc... into the assembly and use insert constraints to place all the parts in the correct location..

As stated the bolted connection generator is really a function used to create holes when they aren't there already..
