Crash during a MEP connector adding for a Subsitute Model State

Hi all!

I created a Subsitute Model State of an assembly by Symplify function. Now I want to add a Pipe Connector by Environments tab -> BIM Content. I can set position and parameters for the connector, but I when I click OK or Apply in the Pipe Connector window, Inventor crashes. Is it a bug or I do something wrong?

Inventor Professional 2023.2.1.

Any help will be appreciated!

Hi Artem,

This is definitely a bug. If you can reproduce it, please share the files in zip with me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the substitute workflow crash better.

Many thanks!

Hi Folks,

Just to provide some update on this issue, it seems to be related to a substitute subassembly. Somehow, the BIM Content process chokes on it. I am working with the project team to understand the issue better.

Many thanks!

Hi there!

I know that Inventor project team is working on this issue, but maybe some extra info will be useful for somebody.
I did some research and what I found:
1. If I try to add a pipe connector for any substitute based on any model state, Inventor crashes.
2. If I try to add a pipe connector for any model state, It works fine. In this case connectors are added for all model states, not only for an active model state. I think it would be right to add connectors in the Master model state.
3. If connectors have been added in a model state and then I refresh a substitute based on the Master model state, connectors are appeared in all substitutes. If I refresh a not Master-based substitute, connector are not appeared.
