What version of Inventor (including Update number)?

Did it used to work fine and now there is an issue, or did this install never work?

Did you try running the Inventor Reset Utility?

Shift Win S and Ctrl V of what you see.

Hi! I believe this is related to your user profile. The default 2021 template files are stored in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2021\Templates." You may not have access to the folder. Or, the system process remove the files for some reason.

You can get a copy of default template files very easy. Go to Tools -> App Options -> File -> Configure Default Template -> select the desirable standard and unit -> Ok. A copy of the template files will be stored in the default template path or the active project template path. You may want to check where the default template path is (Tools -> App Options -> File -> Default Template Path). And, also go to Get Started -> Project -> Folder Options -> Templates.

Many thanks!

Can you share some screenshots off the dialog box when you choose “New” (white paper left above in the user interface). And a screenshot off the mapping location to the templates “options” -> tab “file”.

if you’re screen is blank when you click on the white paper, then click on “EN-US”.

Hi! Is the default template folder located on a cloud drive? Please share a screenshot. I would like to understand the issue better.

Many thanks!

Thank u for uploading scheenschots.

First what we need to know.

You have installed Inventor on a Chromebook? If yes, i cant help you.

If no, than see my screenshots.

First see screenshot 3-1, if that location is blank, there are no templates installed.

Click on the white paper left above in the Inventor screen see screenshot 2-1.

In the new Dialog box thats shows up you can choose the template that you need to use. If there are templates choose Standard.ipt.

If there are no templates see screenshot 4-1, when you don't have Templates and en-US then you need to reinstall Inventor. If you have en-US then click on it, and you will see the templates see screenshot 5-1.

Hollo thank you for your reply. I have everything the same as on your screenshots but when I chose standard.ipt, it shows me "Loading... Please Wait". Been waiting for an hour but nothing is happening 😕

Hi! Please make sure the graphics driver is updated and all critical Windows updates are installed. If nothing works, please try using Inventor Reset Utility (All Programs -> Autodesk -> Inventor 2021 -> Tools).

Many thanks!

Hi! You can get a new set of templates easily. Go to Tools -> App Options -> File -> Configure Default Templates -> select the standard and unit -> Ok. The templates will be created in the default template path and also active template path.

Go to Get Started -> Project -> Folder Options. Check where the template path is set to.

Many thanks!
