Copying assemblies

i was wondering when im coping  my assembly is there a way that the part number can go with the part?

I have an assembly and and I used the copy in the component tab and it works just how I want it to, but one flaw is when I open it into another window it does not bring across the part numbers that I have entered

Simple answer is, if you were using Vault the answer would be 'yes'.

what you have to do is open up the part you want to copy, in the componet tab click copy (not icopy) then click the assembly you want to copy and a staus box will show up here is where you can select the parts you want to reuse and parts you want to change and parts you do not want in the assembly when you open it into another window. when you choose to reuse certin parts those parts description and part numbers will carry over.
