Copy/Paste of Views & Sheets Not Working

Has anyone had copy and paste stop working in drawings? I'm familiar with the usual restriction that it can only be done between drawings, but that's what I'm trying to do. It works fine on the other computers, running the same version (2014 SP2 Update 4), is there some setting that I could have flipped that is keeping copy and paste from working?

 

The copy half appears to work like normal, but when I go to paste the option is either absent or grayed out. I've tried rebooting, tried fresh files, tried different ways to activate the copy command, nothing is working.

Are you copying and pasting from one drawing file to another, or from one sheet to another in the same drawing set?

 

If the first, did you leave the source document open when you tried the paste operation?  Sometimes closing the source document clears the clipboard.

For a test and in your Inventor drawing can you Save As to AutoCAD Drawing?  Or do you get a message?

Thanks for your replies. Here's the scoop so far:

 

Both documents are open for the whole process.

 

Save Copy As DXF and Export to DWG both work without issue, not sure if that's exactly what you were looking for.

 

It appears I can't even copy and paste text boxes and tables within a document or between documents. The paste option just isn't there. Copy and paste is working normally in other applications, for text and images.

 

EDIT: And yes, trying to copy from one file to another. I know it never works to copy a sheet to the same file. As I try more things, it seems that no copying and pasting of any sort is working in Inventor, not even sketch elements or features in a part.

After a complete uninstall and reinstall of all Autodesk products and clearing the working folder, still no luck with copy and paste. The problem affects both Inventor and AutoCAD.

 

Does anybody have any suggestions what to try next?

hello. 

In know this might be waaaay overdue, but i thing i had the same problem ( no copy and paste icon after right click on a view/sheet). My solution was to use the keyboard short key( ctrl+c / ctrl+v) to copy and paste both view or sheet to another drawing, even when i could not see the option. 

same rules apply- copy and paste only between idw's. 

 

hope this helps someone.
