Copy assembly components with constraints

Hi all I am trying to copy hardware (bushings) in an assembly and keep the constraints from the first instance. In SW it was copy with mates and very easy very fast to do so. Going by Inventor help page titled "copy assembly components" this should do the same thing. However I can not make it work. Does any one know how to do it? Please don't suggest I just pattern it as very few things in life have a set repeating pattern all in the same plane.

Hi Phil,

Sorry for my question, I'm new using Inventor after years of working with SolidWorks and the lack of the feature copy with mates is killing me rn.

I can not drop de files in "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor Addins" because my workstation user hasn't administration credentials, is there any other way to load your Addin?

I would be very thankfull if you could teach me like the noob I am.

Thanks.

Regards, Joan.

Yea it's like having an arm cut off 😞

Off the top of my head no, if I researched maybe but would be a lot less effort for you to speak to your IT department (plus I'm stacked at the moment, new baby). It was no where near as good as the SW version btw, simple constraints like mate and insert were fine, I couldn't replicate the variety of angle constraints though and moved onto another project.

PM me any bugs you find and I'll fix what I can 🙂

It would be fantastic if you could press "enter" to do the place again function.
