cooloranges Thread Modeler is not visible

Hello,

I have inventor 2023 installed on my machine. I installed coolOranges thread modeler as well. However, it is not visible in my add-in window. I tried restarting my machine. I tried changing the irs in the packagecontents.xml file. Nothing is working.

Thank you in advance

Unfortunately, as seen on the app page (https://apps.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=2540506896683021779&appLang=en&os=Win64 )

this plugin isn't supported by Inventor 2023:

"Unfortunately, threadModeler is discontinued and is not compatible with Inventor 2023.

The last version of threadModeler is compatible with Inventor 2018, 2019 and 2020.

We also released an online version which you can find it on https://threadmodeler.com.

Please use the online version for Inventor versions newer than Inventor 2020."

do you happen to know an alternative for creating threads then?

Yes, use the online-modeller supplied by the same company at https://threadmodeler.com

Seeing how it's discontinued just open the part in Fusion 360 and create modeled threads there. I'm still amazed that Fusion has a modeled threads option and Inventor doesn't.

Please see the info in https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/modeling-thread/idi-p/9571443 for a workaround.

The last time I tried the Cool Orange thread modeler it could be made to work with 2023 even though it's not officially supported.

Thanks

Chris

@ChrisMitchell01 @omar_elkhoulyHL92W I'm running Thread Modeler in 2023, still works fine.

@WillL84 You can create threads in Fusion, but they don't look the same... there's just something off about them

Here is tested solution )))

Tested on Inventor 2025.1.2

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\coolOrange_threadModeler.bundle\PackageContents.xml line 6: <RuntimeRequirements OS="Win64" Platform="Inventor" SeriesMin="Ir21" SeriesMax="Ir24" /> change 'Ir24' to 'Ir30'

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\coolOrange_threadModeler.bundle\Contents\coolOrange.ThreadModeler.Inventor.addin line 11: <SupportedSoftwareVersionLessThan>25..</SupportedSoftwareVersionLessThan> change '25' to '30'

After re-launch inventor it will block it, so open Add-in and mark it as Load Automatically

Enjoy

Hi! You may change it to 100 so that it would work for a quite while.

Many thanks!
