Hi,
I'm aware of the amount of posts on this topic but I can't find a solution which will work for the complicated geometry I am using. I have attatched the geometry in a few different formats (from GrabCAD), can someone please steer me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
Finbar.
Rather than try an use someone else's work - I decided to simply model my own solid geometry and print it on my 3D printer.
That's impressive, but I'm under no illusions about what I'm capable of creating in Inventor and the file I attatched is way above me.
Hi! This is a pretty elaborated model. Very nice. Some of the bodies do come in as solids via STEP. But, most of the model including the exterior body and chassis are a mix of surfaces and solids. If you want to turn them into solid bodies, you may need to go through Repair Body workflow to check surface quality, intersection, and tolerance. It may take a while.
What do you want to do with the model? Print it? Getting a file from GrabCAD does not mean it is free to use. You may need to ask the provider first.
Many thanks!
