Converting .iam to .stl

Hello,

I have a couple of students that are trying to convert a ".iam" to ".stl".  I am having no luck doing this.  I am attaching an example.  I want to 3D print their file.

Thanks for your help!

An assembly file (*.iam) must include parts (*.ipt).

Attach your part2snowflake.ipt here.

Should be as simple as Save As>Save Copy as type *.stl (be sure to select Options and set Units to document units).

Hello Again,

I am probably doing something wrong, however, when seeing the drop down menu for Save As>Save Copy as type *.stl (be sure to select Options and set Units to document units).
.stl is not an option. I have only seen this as an option for export- CAD Format.

Thanks for your help!

You did not attach the part file here as instructed?

Whether you do a Save Copy As or you do Export - you should see the same thing.

Post screen shot of what you do see.

Also, check your Tools>Add-Ins

When my student goes to Export; CAD Format; the ".stl" is available.  However, when he tries to send it to me the file is not in his folder where we saved it.

No part file attached here as requested???

Export as High resolution rather than Brep.

Try saving to some other location (perhaps the Desktop) where it can't be missed.

Have him save it to his "Work" folder as defined by the Project File. This could be an issue with permissions.

Or have him create a new folder within his "Work" folder and export/save it there.
