If you turn off translucent surface it appears as solid. Just curious as to why the solid is required? If this is a purchased part, you can choose to recover surfaces in the drawings if it doesn't appear. Just trying to save the need of converting depending upon the use of the model. Are you needing for mass of an assembly? If so, you may need to override it anyways for what the catalog states and the model itself doesn't account for everything. Just curious.

yeah but its still surface na?.

This is a gearbox of actuator. I need to replace the old actuator with new one in the assembly which i did. I already had a big 2D drawing sheet for the same, where the gearbox is not visible.

When i turn on the option to visible the surfaces in 2D drawing, its become quite messy as I already placed proper views, annotations and cropped views. So updating the 2D with ' include surface body' option is like hell. so i thought i will just place a solid body over that.

Why does it matter if it is just a surface? Can you show how the drawing becomes messy by just including a surface? This leads me to believe that you have a ton of surface models then? Something doesn't sound right. We deal with this all the time and its not a big deal. We get various models from different vendors and sometimes they are composite surface models or just straight surfaces. It is not worth the time to go and close all open gaps in supplied machine models just to get a solid representataion, but the drawings are normal. We just cant see the model until the surface is included.
