Good Morning to everyone! I've a problem with a guide who have to cross a random path. I've used the transitional constrant but it doesn't worked. Sorry for my bad english, i'll post below  my system in a .zip file so it will be easier to understand what is the problem.

I'll post even a screen of my system

This is what I feared.

Many of your dimensions do not make logical sense to me.

If I can't measure the geometry with standard measuring instruments - then I can't manufacture the geometry.

My students already have experience in Design for Manufacturability before they ever get into my Dynamic Simulation class.  Dynamic Simulation is an advanced topic and is best understood on a very strong foundation of geometry.

I have a lot of work to get done and not a lot of time to cover basic geometry.

Can you ask your instructor to join this discussion?  It might be faster that way.

@JDMather Good Morning! I've fixed again each sketch. Now it should be correct.

However i haven't an instructor, I'm learning Inventor for myself, even if i need of it to make my thesis

Good to see that you are back - most students asking questions here give up at the first sign of difficulty.

In your Sketch1 you are still missing two Equal (=) constraints.

An i in circle indicates an Issue with your Sketch8.

Edit the sketch and delete the pink "sick" projection.

You will have to re-constrain that endpoint.

Actually - you could use Sketch1 for ExtrudedSrf1 and for ExtrudedSrf2 - you don't need Sketch4 and 8.

Your Sketch_1 in the file 570062(dsra).ipt is missing dimensions and constraints???

I added them in image below - this is what I am expecting to see on each and every sketch in each and every part.

In this case, it's not my fault, because i've downloaded that cad files from a catalogue. I did't make it. However i'm editing the sketch.

@JDMather I've fully defined all the sketches. I hope that there isn't errors.

In the meantime, while you're completing an example model, you should tell us, what you need this animation for.

You can do such an animation

- in the assembly environment (with the problems pointed out by @Cris-Ideas )

- in Inventor Studio (an example you find >>here<<),

- in the Dynamic Simulation environment (an example I posted >>here<< years ago).

- ... and other examples and suggestions you can find in the web.

The main question, before we search for a solution: What do you want to get, what do you want to achieve with this animation? And in order not to waste time unnecessarily - tell us ALL what you want or need. (We're are "not amused" 😉  if you come at the half way with new wishes and demands - as in Post #5).

I’m sorry for this. I’m learning Inventor and I’m using it since 3 weeks about, so I’m not able to do many of basilar things. But I’m general I’ve opened this topic because I wanted to understand how I can animate that 3D model in that path, both with Inventor Studio and Dynamic Simulation. But I’ve understood that I need to study more this Software before to do these things. I’m sorry if this discussion has become a kind of “lesson” about the bases of Inventor 🙏🏻

But why?

What is your end goal?

What is your Thesis topic?

My thesis deal with to model an automatic system to transport Some magnets of the weight of 7 tonnes. To do this, I need to see that my system, a chassis with a trolly, is able to travel the path I have chosen from the point of view of constraints. To do this, since the only way I have is to simulate what I would like to do, to correct any errors (such as curvature, distance, etc.). My main problem is to have a model of the path to be taken and then to mould all the rest of course. But from a functional point of view, I need to realise whether the path is right or not. Sorry for my English, but i hope that all of you understand my problem 🙏🏻

Isn't it enough to examine (static) the position at some critical points? Do you really need an animation along the whole path? (It's just a question of whether it's really necessary to go to the effort of an animation. You should reconsider.)

No, unfortunately, I need to make the animation because the work environment is very complex and full of obstacles. In addition, there will be another degree of freedom of rotation on the transport system that will help to align magnets with couplings, so handling everything is essential to see how to move the system. I don’t know if the analysis of some critical point it’s enough

Part 57861746 Extrusion1 is "sick" and in any case the part is modeled incorrectly - we will have to fix this one.

Let me know when you are read...

What is your timeline for completing this project?  May?

There is an example in >>this book<< that I would use to set up the Dynamic Simulation that you can then Publish to Inventor Studio.

@JDMather the entire sketches of the wheels, aren't made by me, but I've downloaded it by a catalogue of DEMAG. I haven't controlled all the sketches. It's important if some sketches as an hole, or other little things aren't defined? It's just a question to understand
