Constraint Issue Inventor

Hi!

I'm currently trying to set this two rectangular parts set as shown.

So far I`ve been able to at least constraint it so they are above the other part. But I haven`t figure it out how to angle and center them. I appreciate all the help. Assembly attached.

I would most likely use a Symmetry constraint to center them about the midplane of the beam they are sitting on.  Then use an Angular constraint to directly set that 20° angle that is shown on the drawing.

You will at least need to constrain "edge to edge" to set that 20 gap value. Edge to edge will allow the part to still pivot and then use an angle constraint to define the angle.

Also, you cannot just post the assembly, all parts need to be added as well. So zipping them together and posting on here helps. Assembly is a file that links all parts together.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't know. I've updated the post. Thanks!

After one hour I did it thanks to blandb and jtylerbc. Here is how:

  • Coincident constraint

  • Angular constraint (20º angle)

  • Symmetric constraint (to center it)

  • Coincident constraint

  • Coincident constraint (20 mm gap)
