Constant issues with file status checkouts

Hello

We have constant errors with files being in dirty states, but the biggest issue is when a file cannot be saved as it's checked out by the user trying to save the file, which doesn't make much sense.  Any ideas?  I cannot post files as they are confidential but screenshot is self explanatory

Thanks

Do you use Vault or Single User Project?

What version and updates of AIV?

What about the properties of Design State?

Hi! Does the behavior change if Refresh command (File -> Manage -> Refresh) is used?

Many thanks!

There's a separate browser tab for shared project file status.  (Unfortunately, the Design state iProperty doesn't reflect the shared project check in/out status.)

Does the file status indicate a green box with a tick showing you're allowed to edit the file(s)?

If not, it may display a message that indicates why you're seeing that message.

(Shared projects add extended entity data to every file so they can sort-of-manage who is editing each file.  This data isn't visible anywhere other than inside Inventor - so it can be a pain to unravel.  If you ever choose to move to a 'proper' multi-user file management tool like Vault, use Autoloader to get your data into Vault because it is - as far as I know - the only tool which strips the shared project garbage from all your files.  I guess there's a reason shared projects were made 'legacy' at least 10 years ago!)

The latest update for this version is

Inventor Professional 2022.4.1 Update

Try to update (for ex, via https://manage.autodesk.com/ ).

We used to have a problem with not being able to save files because they were checked out. We fixed this by changing everyone's user name to 'user' in 'Tools, Application options, general' (there are only 3 of us using Inventor). Not had the problem since.
