I feel this is something I should know or something simple. How do you group identical items in the browser and get the total count of the same items?

See example I am accustomed to seeing items like this in the browser.

Plain Washer (Inch) 2 1/4 - narrow - Type B x8

Plain Washer (Inch) 2 1/4 - narrow - Type B (8)

The X8 and (8) being the total count and they are all together in the browser. Currently if I drop in identical items during the build they are spread out in the browser.

Try this: Assemble tab > Productivity section > click the pull-down menu > Alpha-Sort Component.

Cool that's a start. But I do like to see my main components at the top of my browser. But it also does not reduce the components display to one combined line.

But this is good option.

Thank You.

At the modeling stage, you have several options:

  1. Place one component and create a pattern (linear, circular or fitted)
  2. When inserting a CC you usually have the option to check the insert in pattern option (this will then apply to all holes in the pattern modeled in the part)
  3. For a screw connection, you can even check the merge option in the upper right corner.

In the management stage, you can select (ctrl / shift) a set of components, right-click and create a folder in the browser for the selected group.

I use folders to "tidy up" the number of compopnents visible in the browser.

select all the parts you want to groups and RMB "add to new folder". rename as you please.

Yeah that was the only other option I originally saw. But that becomes tedious creating so many folders, then if the part changes. Thank you.

I know how to pattern.

The only issue I have is cmbining all items in one line without needing to create a folder.

Galaxybane reccommended iLogic which is probably what I want to do.

I think you are right. Sounds like the best option.
