Colour change in custom ipart

Hi,

I am trying to add a colour choice key to a custom ipart, choice of two colours in fact.

The help file makes mention of adding a column in the "other" tab, but does not elaborate. 

I have manually written the colour name in this column, but when inserting the ipart into an assembly, nothing happens. It stays the old colour selected when creating the base component. 

What have I missed?

It sounds like you need to map the column as appearance. 

Create a colour column in 'other' as you have, then right click the column header in the table at the bottom. Here you can set it as the appearance column.

Hi! Please note that such designation applies to the whole part. Body color, feature color, and face color cannot be configured on a per member basis. The same rule applies to Model State at the moment also.
