color coding the hole table

i want to color code the hole table and hole tags. as you can see in the attached picture this drawing is very crowded, and hole a lot of different holes.

I've googled for days and can't find anything that works.

in the hole table, i want to be able to change the color of a specific tag. in this case only the "M" tag. i want to able to have the hole tag in the table to be a certain color, and also have the tag in the drawing be the same color.

double clicking the "M" in the table opens up the text editor, but it wont let me change the color. same with right clicking and selecting "edit hole tag", that will change the text look, but only in the text editor window. it wont change the color after clicking ok.

any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits end with this.

Hi! Unfortunately, there isn't a workflow to do that in Inventor efficiently. If the drawing is a dwg file, you may want to try assigning the color to individual hole tag in AutoCAD.

Many thanks!

Hi @malvarezV2AWX ,

the work around to adjust the color of the tag is by creating a new Layer and name it as "M-Tag" for example and then associate the tag layer to your custom layer, this will change the tag color to match it to that of the layer, however for the table, since the entire table belongs to one layer , cant be done that way, you might wanna consider adding a new column to the table and type the color in to cross reference it.

Hope it helps

Best
