Circle input box?

Hello, 

I am very new to Inventor. I know that inventor is not like AutoCAD (which is what I have worked with for the last 10 years). 

Currently I am working through the tutorials. I have reached the "Parts 2" tutorial. I have noticed something, There are times when the video shows an action during a 2d sketch. During the tutorial this happens: Circle command started, center point picked and dragged, Then you can see the tutorial entering a number on the keyboard for the diameter, in the tutorial you can see the entire number which is 100. When I do the same thing, the input box where I see the number only shows me 1/2 of the last digit in 100. Is there a way to adjust this box so I can fully see the number. 

I do understand that I don't have to type it in. I can draw a circle and then dimension it with the correct number.  However the flow in the tutorial is similar to autocad.  Please see the screenshot.

Possibly increase the Annotation Scale from the Application Options>General Tab.

stange,  if you type a longer number, will the box increase?

after typing the number, you can put you mouse floating on the box, do you see the value?

if you press enter, can you see and / or change the value?

If I type a larger number, yes the size increases, however I cannot see the first 3 digits of the number.

After typing, if i put the mouse over the box yes I can see the number. Yes this sort of solves the problem. However, overall checking in that manner will slow down  any projects I work on if I have to do it every time. I am trying to avoid that since in the tutorial you can see the entire number after typing. 

Yes, After I press enter The dimension is there and yes I can change it. 

It is possible that because I've only used AutoCAD for 10 years, that I am thinking "too AutoCAD". I do like the idea of cutting out having to constrain the dimensions after the fact.  If I already know what size the object should be, I could just enter it as I draw. Then It would save the time of going back and changing the dimensions to the correct size. So I would think the process could be: Circle command, click center of circle, type in diameter, enter.  Instead of circle command, click and drag a circle, enter, double click,  and type  the correct number, then enter. Though both work with Inventor. 

Maybe its splitting hairs on how much more time it adds. It just seems that over the course of a large project the first option would be slightly faster and save more time in the long run. 

So is it thinking "too AutoCAD"? I am trying to notice where that happens.

the nice thing is that you can use both way's.

why you have the small input box i don't know, maybe a bug.

but you only have this box when entering the value.

after that you get a different box to show the dimension, and there you can see the full dimension?

so for the overview, after placing a dimension you can see it.

you could try a reset (Inventor reset utility) from the windows start menu, but note that all setting will become default again. maybe that will solve the input box size

Yes, Once I complete the operation the dimension is there and yes I  can see it.

Yes, but it didn't change the size of the box.

I cannot reproduce the issue you describe.

What version of Inventor are you using?

Have you installed all Service Packs and Updates for your version of Inventor?

What is the resolution of your monitor?
