Hello everyone,

I do not know if this is even possible but here is my problem.

We have used this titleblock for almost 2 years now and since recently i wanted to change a small part of it so that it shows the sheet name in a multi sheet drawing. I managed to make the change but it does not change all the previous drawings.

How i changed it:

I opened the format file somewhere in the cloud created a prompted intput field and saved it.

This worked for the drawings created  from that moment on but it did not change the drawings created previous to that change.

I can obviously change this for every drawing by hand but that would be really time consuming.

I am happy to hear your tips and tricks.

Well since title blocks are resources that are saved inside the document I'm afraid it won't be that easy to do.

One option is to open a file with the new title block, give it the same name as your old one and copy it.

Then start opening your old files and paste the title block.

Inventor will ask you if you want to replace the current title block or create a new title block.

Choose to replace the current one and the title block will be updated to the new standard.

There might be ways to do this with the task scheduler or iLogic, but don't really have experience with that.

Hi!

You can use this:

Tip:

Try it first with a couple a files, and if it works like you need... you can select all the drawings to change the title block (and other definitions based in the current template) all at once.

It appears this is a translation so be careful. Research this tool and Prompted Entries. There are possibilities where you could lose valuable information, if your title-block data doesn't "pull" directly from an iProperty.

Other than that, yes CCarreiras is absolutely correct, this is the tool. We've used it dozens of times.
