Changing a bearing's material

Good afternoon everyone I am trying to do a stress analysis on an assembly that I have built in Inventor 2017, but I can't change the material of my bearings to the correct one. Whenever I try, Inventor blocks me telling me that the family is in read-only mode or something like that. Can please someone help me out? Thanks in advance

Are you using Vault or did the files come from a Vaulted environment?

If you RC on the files in Windows Explorer, select "Properties" then uncheck the "Read Only" box.  This will allow read write privileges to the files.

I was able to solve the problem by downloading a 3D model from SKF's website and changing the bearing material in that file. I replaced the Inventor-made bearings with the SKF's and everything went fine. The bearing that was impossible to customize was not read-only in Windows Explorer, but you still couldn't do anything about it because it belonged to a read-only family of components in Inventor, so in the future I will always try to download the appropriate 3D models from a manufacturer's website. Thanks for helping me anyway, have a nice day!
