Change to phantom

Hello 

I insert to assembly the same part couple of time ( 6 for example)

I want to change only 1 of them to phantom (to get QTY=5)

From the BOM I can't divide  , but from the browser RMB-> BOM structure -> reference

I want phantom not referenced , how can I do that

I don't want to toggle visibility

The only method without using occurrence referenced is to create a new file. The occurrence has only 2 settings for bom structure default or referenced.

Keeping the original file, you could use referenced to remove the bom qty then hide the visibility of that occurrence.

AFAIK the “Phantom” setting is stored in the file itself. So, as @A.Acheson said, you would need a second file with a different BOM property. It is only the “Reference” setting which you can set per instance.

You can also manually edit your BOM quantity if you double-click that cell:

Why not using the using referenced? because of the drawing display? drawing views are the only place where you can see a difference compared to the other components. By default referenced data is displayed differently.

But you can set the hidden line calculation to "all bodies" and the display style to "Edges as part". set a larger margin value if you only see small part of a component.

The result will be a drawing view with components shown as "normal" components.
