Change reflected image of parts

Hello everyone...

I have a huge question also this is breaking my mind and I can't find the solution...

When you model a part and change the color for one that reflects, always reflects a building with cars, I think is an Office... the color I used was Aluminum (Polished)

How can I change this reflected Image???

Changing the chrome setting image

Go to program file - autodesk - Inv 2008 - textures and rename
parkinglot.dds then copy car3.bmp and rename it parkinglot.dds say yes when
prompted about changing the file extension and you will have old reflective
image with the Mazda in it.

Description of the problem
Upon installing Autodesk Inventor 2008, shiny objects such as chrome appear
with undesirable colors and images.
Cause
Autodesk has changed the reflection mapping scheme, so that it is now
controlled within each color scheme. Car3.bmp has been replaced by
ParkingLot.dds or GroveCube.dds.
Suggested solution
• Close Inventor 2008.
• Open REGEDIT form the Windows Command prompt, or from Start - Run
• Back up your entire Windows registry.
• Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER section, then browse to Software > Autodesk >
Inventor > Registry Version 12.0 > System >Preferences > Color Schemes >
Schemes.
• Under Schemes, you will see a series of folders that are numbered. The
numbers relate to named color schemes; for example, 7 is the Presentation
color scheme, 5 is the Millennium color scheme. If you are unsure about
which color scheme is the one that you want to change, then install and load
the Inventor Color Scheme Editor and set the editor to the version of
Inventor that you are planning on editing. Please note that you cannot edit
the reflection bitmap from inside the Inventor Color Scheme Editor.
• You will be selecting and editing the registry entry called:
EnvironmentCubeTexturePath
• Right mouse click on the name; EnvironmentCubeTexturePath and select
modify. Replace the value - ParkingLot.dds with the value - Car3.bmp, or the
name of any desired image. This image must also be stored inProgram
Files/Autodesk//Inventor2008/Textures subdirectory.
• Repeat this operation for each color scheme that you wish to edit.
• When you're editing is complete, close REGEDIT. Restart inventor 2008 to
update the changes.
Caution
Applying this fix will require editing the registry in Windows. Be
absolutely sure to make a complete backup of your Windows registry before
even attempting an edit.If you are not absolutely proficient in editing a
Windows registry file, then do not attempt this fix.The author and Tekni
Consulting LLC claim no responsibility for errors or omissions caused by
editing a registry file.

I don't think people want to dig deep and trick the system, I think they want choices.  It's always about choices.  I think a great way to do this is to simply be able to choose an image (jpg or bmp, in the Style Editor, Color, Apperance, Shiny) just as you would choose a texture.  I can't wait for Autodesk to fix this problem.

What version are you using?

The have provided the choices concerning this in the last couple of versions.

I'm currently running Inventor 2010.  But I'm on subscription so I'll be upgrading as new versions come out.

In 2010 does this option to change the .dds file in the Application Options' Color tab do what you need?

Yes, when are they going to fix it.  I always need to refer back to this Discussion Groups because only, maybe once a year, I need to change the reflection on a part and I never ever think of changing the application color because (of course) I don't want to change the application color, I want to just change the reflection of one particular part.  The reflection in one part to another changes depending if it's an inside part or an outside part or something of that nature, so it's always changing.  It would be understood if it was part of the "Style & Standard" color/material, Shininess % dialog box.  I can't wait till they fix that.  But I wont hold my breath, I'll just cross my fingers.
