Hello,
is there any way how to change Unit quantity in the part?
The part is purchased in the packiging per 4pcs. In the BOM we have also property "Vendor" and user property "OrderNumber". In this case the buyer can buy four times more pieces than it is necessary because the BOM shows Unit quanity 1 EACH.
I do not want to overwrite the Unit quantity in the BOM. I would like to change the Unit quantity of the part to this:
Base unit: leave the Each
Base quantity: 0.25
So the Unit quantity is: Base quantity x Base unit =0.25Each
But there is the problem. I have prapared the user parameter "packiging" as showed in the picture (0.25, unit is ul). It is not possible to choose this parameter for the Base quantity if there is the unit ul in the parameter. Also I do not know how to leave Base unit as EACH a overwrite Base quantity as 0.25.
Does somebody know how to do that?
Regards,
Jan

Inventor BOMs and Parts Lists have some limitations if you try to use them as purchasing software.
Here is a workflow that might help.
Go to an assembly that uses the new component.

Hi! There is actually a backdoor access to get the desirable result. The workflow is a bit wacky but it works.
1) Go to Part Parameter table -> create a length parameter or simply use whatever parameter you want to could as based unit.
2) Go to Tools -> Doc Settings -> BOM -> Base Quantity -> select parameter. The Base Unit will become the length unit.
3) Go back to Part Parameter table -> change the parameter unit from length unit to unitless.
4) Repeat step2. The Base QTY becomes unitless but the Base Unit is still length unit. Click on the X button to go to Parameters dialog -> click Export and click it again -> Done.
Now, the Base Unit will become unitless also.
Many thanks!
