The 2nd post should be the answer. Does it help?
The problem is, this posting is 5 years old and most of the original people that did reply, their accounts are archived and no longer active.

Hi! Is it about the document unit? Or, drawing unit? Or, parameter unit? Or, model scale? Or, import unit? There are various situations in Inventor where unit conversion is involved. Could you provide a bit more information what you want to do here? I would like to understand it more clear and help you further.
Many thanks!
Good afternoon Sir,
Its about the 3d assembly which created in inch form so i would like to make it in mm form but the 3d is a solid bodies and it is not the same as the file of Inventor which is .ipt so im getting hard to convert it to mm form. Hopefully to be the answered thank u
Hi! I still need a little bit more information. Is it about measurement showing in inch, not in mm? Or, you are trying to scale down or up the geometry from inch?
If it is former, you can simply go to Tools -> Document Settings -> Units -> change it to mm. If it is latter, you will need to edit each part. Either rescale the parameters on Parameters table or use Direct Edit -> Scale to rescale the body.
Please attach an example if it is still not clear how to make the change.
Thanks!
hey, thanks for your idea. i want to ask you how to change inch to mm on "drawing unit"?. many thanks!
Inventor 9?
I can’t remember back that far, but in later versions this is done in Tools>Application Options.
If I remember correctly, back then you replaced the default templates (name and location) with metric templates (of course this method will still work today). Post back if you need step-by-step instructions on how to replace Template files.
