Cant get "insert constraint" to work in assembly

I have attached a "packNgo" file. I hope everything is there.

Looking at the assembly I have a main rod that moves vertically via two slots and pins (limits not in place yet).

The lower jaw uses the yellow link to attach to the vertical rod, but when I use the insert the constraint fails.

Eventually the rising and lowering the rod will open/close the jaw.

I don't know why.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks in advance.

Hi! It is because there is a small offset between the yellow link and the back plate. To make the Insert work, you will need to add an offset value instead of zero. Or, you may use an axial Mate constraint.

Many thanks!

I was sure there was no offset. So I went with the axial mate constraint and everything is working.

Thanks.
