Cannot see path for Project File

I cannot see the path of the project file (see screen shot above, where the second default line is selected).  The other issue I have is the fact that it is Read-Only.  If this is not normal, how would I go about in fixing it?  Thanks!home_screen.jpg

Welcome to the community..

When your project file is in read-only mode you can't change it.  Do you have any files opened in Inventor?  However the message indicates something else has ties to the INventor project file.  I would close out Inventor and open it again.

Hi EricCTXELY,

Inventor's Default project does not have a location path, and can not be edited. That's just how it is, and that's one of the reasons it is not recommended to us that Project file.

So what you're seeing is normal.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Hi Curtis,

Sorry, but this is a different issue (I'm new to this forum so I apologize in advance).

OK, this has to do with drawings created in Autocad 2016 and importing them into Inventor 2016 (simple, right?).  When I try to do this, no layers show up on the left hand side of the Layers & Objects Import Options window.  Is this normal?  I've spoken with other people in my department and they don't have this issue.  Please see my screen shot.  When the drawing does import, I have to delete all the dimensions and any other lines I don't need and we all know that on a large drawing, this can take a while.  Is there something that I'm missing?  BTW, thanks for helping me with the other issue!

Thanks, Curtis
