Cannot Publish Multiple Content Center Rows

I've found a problem with our company's Content Center. If I add only a single row to an existing Content Family, it will publish successfully. If I try to add more than one row at a time, the publish will fail. Any help? We're running 2020.3.3 for Server and Inventor.

I'm not certain what you mean by adding more than one row at a time.  Let me try to understand... you have an existing Custom Content Family, and you are (as an example) adding sizes to the table?  Do you mean that you have to add a row, exit and then start over?

Hi! Typically, our users publish an iPart (with multiple rows) to CC. Is the part you are publishing an iPart?

Many thanks!

that's exactly right. The weird things is, the number of rows modified doesn't matter if I'm only deleting rows - it doesn't throw up an error. It's only when adding more than one new row at a time that it fails to publish. It's not just the content family template that's causing the error; this failure has been occurring on every family I've tried. Also, modifying multiple preexisting rows does not throw up the error. It is only creating new rows that does this.

Great.... thanks for the added detail and clarification.  Maybe @johnsonshiue will be able to try to reproduce the error?

Hi! The behavior does not sound right to me. We did have a few regression in CC Publish workflows recently, but your issue does not sound like the known problems. Please share an example here or send it to me directly, [email protected]. I would like to understand it better.

Many thanks!

Alright, I've figured it out. Through some arcane magicks, Inventor will not let you publish more than one new rows of a content center family if the value in the Part Number column for those rows are set to nothing. A simple workaround to the issue is to give the rows some random string in the Part Number column ("a", or "1", or whatever), apply the changes, then go delete the Part Number column values. Inventor is fine with publishing rows that have a value of nothing, but only if the row previously existed.
