Cannot install Inventor, Minimum requirments

I been at this all day. I've done a clean install multiple times, ran the fixit and removed everything that said autodesk Inventor., created a new temp dir, turned off anti virus, deleted keys I don't know what else to try.

I've attached a sysinfo file show my system does meet minimum requiremnts and the contents of the temp dir. I don't see any errors.

Do you have enough disk space available? Inventor might have to extract something (thus using up more space) before installing.

Stupid question time: are you running 32-bit Windows?

Hi! I suspect this is related to Win10. Not all Win10 builds are equal. You are probably on an earlier build of Win 10. Please make sure all critical Windows updates are installed.

Many thanks!

I'm on the latest version and I've applied all of the updates. This was working until I uninstalled and re-installed.

Perhaps it helps - perhaps it doesn't. Try this:

- Switch to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Uninstallers

- Search for any folder name beginning with Autodesk Inventor Professional 2022

- In each folder run AdskUninstallHelper.exe

After that, try a new install.

If it succeeds, be happy. If not, bite the desktop table 🤔

Thanks for the suggestion. No luck. I saw a cmd window pop up and it looked like it was deleting things. I ran the install and same infernal window popped up. "Does not meet requirements"

Message 11 of 25

I've had this problem, too.

After using MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab Inventor 2022 could be installed.

Tried that too. I used that as part of the clean installed found on this forum

Hmm. This is my workflow two months ago, for a German version of Inventor 2022:

1. Uninstall Inventor 2022 by Control panel
1. 1. Uninstall additional Language packs, if needed
2. Do an additional run with AdskUninstallhelper.exe in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Uninstallers\Autodesk Inventor Professional 2022 - Localized version
2. 1. Do similar for Language packs
3. Remove %localappdata%\autodesk\ODIS folder
4. Delete %temp%\*.log
5. Run MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab for cleaning up still remaining entries in the registry
6. Replace setup.xml with a special version for Inventor 2022 RTM German version, or other language (perhaps not necessary)
7. Re-boot
8. Install Inventor 2022 again

Comment: The setup.xml (mentioned above) was a minimized version, that didn't check all tests during the install run.

I expect, that it isn't valid for your situation

Failed!  Same results.

I followed your steps exactly and it failed. I would be interested in seeing the xml file you referenced.

Let's back up for a moment to see if the technique that has never failed for me - works for you.

Do you have these three files?

Here's the reduced Setup.xml for my German version

Thanks for the xml file. I notice mine has more condition statements than yours.  I may change mine to reflect yours.

I was able to install and run Inventor Professional 2020.  I tried running through your procedures one last time. I thought getting a prior version of Inventor up and running would replace or reset any damaged or missing files. It made no difference; Inventor 2022 still failed.

I'm good for now, but I'm still willing to try other suggestions.

Thanks again for you help.

Message 18 of 25

I don't think, that comparing 2020 install with 2022 can help. 2022 install procedure is based on ODIS, a different technique. IMO it's not totally foolproof.

Perhaps an installation evangelist can declare more about it.

What the heck is ODIS?

You must be right, because installing 2020 didn't appear to have any affect.  I agree it's not foolproof.

Thanks again

DAMIT!

Got inventor 2020 up and running and was going to settle for that. Went ahead and did what I needed to do. Then I tried to open a previous design. It was create in 2022 before I uninstalled and, of course, Inventor 2020 wont open any document created with a new version. So I'm back to where I was and have been.......

Went through the clean install procedure by Betreff plus deleted EVERY Autodesk folder I could find, when through the registry and delete HKLM\Software\Autodesk and HKCU\Software\Autodesk.

I just don't get it. It was working fine until I uninstalled and now I get the does not meet minimum requirements error
