I could rotate a cylindrical part in an assembly in Inventor 2017. I constrained two axis in the version 2017, but when I try to constrain in the new version (2022) it only allows solution constrains and after I attach parts together I can't rotate them individually.

Can you Attach an assembly here that exhibits this behavior?

Make up a dummy assembly if your original design is proprietary.

Thank you for your quick reply. I've managed to rotate the part in the assembly. Changed one of the parts as "Grounded" and than I could rotate the other parts.

If there is an option to mark a question as "Solved", I can mark it.

Quick question; do I always have to mark one of the parts as "Grounded" to be able to rotate others?

Hi! Please share the files here. I guess there is constraint loop. Though the part you are trying to rotate isn't grounded, the rotation degree of freedom is locked due to constraints to other components.

Another possibility is that it is constrained to an adaptive part. An adaptive part is driven by the adaptive driver. So when the driver cannot move, the adaptive part will stay put.

It is hard to tell by description. Please run Degree of Freedom analysis (Productivity tool) and it will show you the remaining DOF for each component.

Many thanks!
