Can't edit library parts in single user project

I did a search & didn't find what I was looking for. From what I seen they all dealt with vault. 

The last time I created a project was 11 years ago when I started with my last company & thought this was the way I had it set up. I'm at a new company now. I created a single user project & multiple library folders with multiple parts & assemblies (that I brought from the last company) & placed inside those folders. But if I want to edit any of my parts or assemblies I get the "cannot modify the library file/it's not check out to you" error. I thought if it was a single user project, the check out system didn't apply? The workspace "add path" is grayed out. The workgroup "add path" is available. Is that where I should create my sub-folders? Hope this all makes sense. See attached. I'm running Inventor Pro 2021. Thanks.

It is a protection mechanism to prevent edits to library files, which are constant and shouldn't change. The functionality is there without Vault as well. If you want to edit the files they'll have to be in a folder that is not a library folder, like in your workspace. If they are truly a library they should probably be accessible to everyone and should not be editable.

Thanks for the fast reply! Reading through the Autodesk Knowledge Network, it says to avoid using workgroups whenever possible. So previously it had to have been workspace sub-folders that I was working in. I'll try recreating these sub-folders under workspace & move all my models over & see if that fixes the issue. Thanks.

I wasn't able to add any search paths under workspace. I added them under frequently used sub-folders (makes sense I guess) & that fixed the issue. Apparently that's how I set it up previously. Thanks.

I'm new at Forums. This one seemed as close to topic as I could find with out reading for a month.  I am green at "Projects".  I'm using Inventor 2022.  I started too many Projects in too many different locations on the company directories for Engineering.  I have a file structure on the Engineering Drive representing where the parts are used.  When I go to save them I get the warning "location is not in project file path".  I go to the link to add the file path.  The knowledge base has the same page every time.  I attempt to follow the instructions but my current part does not get added and next time I open it and save it I have the same message.  I'm currently a single user.  The Vault on my machine is 2019 because the AutoCAD people in our Engineering Group are on AutoCAD 2019.  I'm not using Vault. I'm making good Sheet Metal drawings and all that But my projects are all goofed up.  Can I move the contents from one Project to another and then delete the project I emptied?  I must be thinking totally wrong about Projects/file paths/?......?  It just feels like the software won't play fair.  My sheet metal is 3003 H14 Aluminum Plate. Inventor only offers 6061.  When I follow "Knowledge Base" step by step I add the 3003 but it won't appear in the "choose from" list.
