Can't drag features or end of part in browser

Hello,

Something strange happened yesterday: I cannot drag and drop anything on the tree anymore. I cannot reorder any feature nor move the End of Part marker. When I try to do it, I get the red "do not" sign. I can still move the end of part by right clicking on features and selecting "Move EOP Marker", which suggest to me that it's not linked to the modification on the tree itself, but to the drag and drop behavior. Unfortunately I am not aware of any such workaround for moving features on the tree.

This behavior happens on every part, including new, simple ones made for testing.

The issue is appears to be similar to this one : https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/can-t-drag-features-in-browser/td-p/12540986

However, this user does not get the "do not" sign on their cursor.

I tried restarting Inventor, restarting my PC, and updating to Inventors latest release; to no avail. I'm on Professional 2025.

Thanks

Hi! This sounds like a corruption to me. Please share the file here or send it to me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like understand the browser EOP behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson, thanks for the reply

I have this behavior on every part. Here is a quick test part that I made just to test that I wasn't crazy, and it still does that on my machine.

Hmm 🤔

It works for me.

Please note that if there are relationships between features (geometry inheritance), moving will be impossible due to the model being broken down.

Hi! I cannot seem to reproduce the behavior either. Try go to Manage -> Rebuild All. Does it work better now?

Many thanks!

Hello,

Since last week, a customer user has been experiencing exactly the same problem.
It is no longer possible to move functions and the end of the part.
As with gleleuC3YZ3, the “do not” symbol is displayed.

For the moment, we haven't found a solution (updated graphics card, ...). It looks like it has appear after a Windows update.

However, we have found that reinitializing Inventor corrects the problem, but that it returns shortly afterwards.
We also found that the problem was not present on the computer screen, but only when Inventor is on an external monitor.

Hi all, thanks for the help

Rebuild all did not change the behavior, but indeed disconecting my second screen allows for feature reorganisation again. Works for me as a temporary workaround.

Hi,

I have the same issue. When Inventor window is open in an external monitor nothing can be dragged and dropped in the tree anymore. Still works on main monitor. As I'm using a laptop and I move around between flexi desks, then this issue is fairly annoying as I cannot use extrnal monitors and have to rely on my small laptop screen.

There seem to be quite a few issues on extrnal monitors with Inventor 2025.

Hi! Please make the monitor hosting Inventor the primary monitor.

Many thanks!

Same issue here. Autodesk is not addressing issues that consistently occur over time. I have a model doing it that is based off of at least 10 other models with multiple iterations and now this one is stuck. Sad

Hi! The behavior does not sound right to me. If possible, please share the ipt file directly with me at johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the reordering feature behavior better.

Many thanks!
