Can't delete pipe fitting

Help! I've been trying to learn how to work in Inventor Tube & Pipe. I have a new pipe run with a route and some fittings. Some of my fittings are not attached to anything, but I stall can't delete them from my screen. I can't do anything with them. If I make them invisible, they still show up in my BOM!

How can I get rid of thee fittings?

Hello there,

I'm guessing, from my own expereince, that you copied and pasted those fittings into your pipe run thinking you might need them later. Copy and paste doesn't work well with Tube & Pipe and I always advise users to never, ever, ever do it. Always place fittings from the Content Center or your file system using the tools on the ribbon. But... now that you have these unwanted fittings, there IS a way to get rid of them. Simply demote the fittings you want to get rid of into a NEW sub-assembly. Call it junk or delete or something that you can easily recognize. After you have demoted all of the fittings, simply delete that new sub-assembly and all of your extra fittings will go with it. I still say never copy and paste, but if you forget and do... there is a way out.

Good luck!
