Can't constrain part to a plane.

Hello everyone! I have done some google-fu and I couldn't find an answer to this.

In an assembly I have a point cloud file - a staircase with a railing. I have created a part, and the part is a vertical post for the railing. I have created a work plane flush with the floor, so that I can constrain the bottom of the vertical post with the work plane on the floor, so that I can move it around where it needs to be without changing its Z location. When I constrain the bottom of the pole to the floor plane, I get an error, hit accept relationship, and I can still move the vertical post freely on ANY axis when in fact it should be locked on the Z axis.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

This should be an easy fix.

Mate the Origin Workplanes.

Attach your assembly here if you have trouble figuring it out.

Hi! I think the constraint system is in failed solve state. If you suppress or delete the sick constraint, are other healthy constraints honored now? If you cannot figure out, please attach an example here. Forum experts should be able to comment further.

Many thanks!
