Can I make an RFA file with all parameters for Revit?

Hello,

I'm working on a project for a company that wants their personal Inventor library being transferd to an Revit library. All their parameters should still be functional perfectly as they programmed in Inventor.

I was thinking about ACC and working tru their cloud function. Because this seems like the perfect solution. But I'm a student so I can't get any permission for this tool sadly.

I already tried this:

Inventor: environments - BIM Content - Export RFA
Revit: Family import - Load into project
conclusion all parameters text goes with the file to Revit and I can adjust the height, length, etc in edit type but the actual dimensions doesn't change. Because the actual calculation didn't transfer from Inventor to Revit.

I hope someone can help me with this.

Thanks. Kim

Hi Kim, I believe you are trying to create a parametrically driven family in Revit, unfortunately this is not possible and the only way to do it is to create it in Revit.

However, you can check out Informed Design, it is a plugin for both Inventor and Revit which allows you to configure Inventor to be parametric, send this to Autodesk Docs and then bring in a specific configuration on the Revit side. You cannot however change dimensions in the family editor, you would have to use the plugin to change the dimensions.

If you have further questions on Informed Design, it has it's own forum now.
