Can COPY Dimension but CANNOT Paste Into Sketch

Have had this happen a LOT.  Starting a new part in an assembly and want to use a dimension from the assembly for one of the dimensions in the new part.  Do a Measure command and get a dimension.  Highlight the dimension and click COPY.  Then in the sketch (rectangle for example) and when one of the dimensions is selected, can hit CTRL+V until we're blue in the face and no dimension gets pasted in. BUT I can open Notepad, do a CTRL+V and the copied dimension pastes right in.  Go back to the sketch and absolutely cannot paste the dimension in.

Are we doing something wrong?  Pain the *** having to paste it into Notepad or write it down and then manually type it into the Inventor sketch.

Hi Scott  ( @phlyx )

I see the problem - and its rather annoying. It looks like when the value in the edit box is highlighted, its not allowing the paste operation.

However, you can try this trick.

1. When your text is highlighted in blue

2. Type

    - any character - say 1 or dot

    - backspace to erase that character

    - ctrl+v to paste your buffer

3. That should replace it.

I agree this that this is a bug. I will log one for you.

Thanks for reporting this.

I have created a defect to track this - INVGEN-60933.
