BUG? Inventor 2018 browser scroll bar disappears randomly

I am a big fan from the new Inventor browser: I like to be able to seperate the Vault browser from the model browser so I can monitor them both.

I noticed one problem, which I have seen also at several customers.

Sometime the scrollbar disappears and I am not able to scroll through the long list anymore. I do not know when it happens and to resolve this is mostly reorder the browsers or disable and re-enable them.

Yes, but your browser is shorter than the available space, so there you do not need a scroll bar. In my pictures in the first post, you can see what I mean.

I think Michael thought your comment about having them separated was your first question and not just a compliment..

As to the scroll bar.. I believe that has been reported already and I "think" its fixed..

Have you updated Inventor to include the latest updates.. Up to 2018.1.2

If not please do so and see if that takes care of it..

Maybe that was the misunderstanding...

I am actually already on 2018.2 (beta), so or it was has not been solved, or the 2018.2 beta re-introduced the problem:

But one of our customers has the2018.1.2 update and noticed the same thing!

Just replying to confirm that this issue is present in 2018.1.2

Re-docking the vault browser fixes this, but it happens quite often.

Maybe @johnsonshiue can comment on if it's a known issue and if it might be fixed in 2018.2 when it comes out of beta?

(or if it's already fixed in an internal build)

Hi Guys,

I am on a slightly newer 2018.2 internal build but I cannot reproduce it on my machine. Let me work with the project team to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi  b.graaf,

This is a know issue (INVGEN-6822) and it has been reported to our tracking system to under investigation.

The simple workflow is like this:

1.open one complex top assembly
2.Add Vault browser, make it docked below Model browser (Model browser is on the top, while Vault browser is on the bottom),
3.Open one subassembly in the top assembly
4.Open another sub-sub-assembly from the sub-assembly
5.Open a part from the sub-sub assembly

Result: the browser scroll bar doesn't appear

Could you help confirm whether this is same as your workflow?

Thanks

Actually, till now I did not know how to reproduce it, but it happened now and than.

I honestly cannot reproduce it with our steps, or at least not consistent!
