Browser width automatically reset after restart of Inventor

By default the browser of Inventor is too narrow for the lengthy file/part names we use. To get a clear view on the nodes in the browser I extend it to roughly match the average node name. Unfortunately this settings isn't saved, after a restart of Inventor the browser is reset to the default (i.e. minimized) state.

Though dragging the browser to my desired width is doable, it is still annoying to have to do this every day (or as with my Inventor, which crashes a few times a day, a few times per day).

Is there a way to save this setting? Perhaps something to change in the registry if not available in a regular option menu?

Dear Jar Fu,

Apparently so. I've tested it and it now works as expected, good work!

The iProperties window now also retains its shape and size, a true bliss (not having to do this every single time)!

Regards,

Remco

I'm having issues with this in Inventor 2022.3.

I think it might be related to assemblies having the Representations tab shown separately.  It 'squishes' the panes tabs as small as they can go, and does not keep the panes tabs 'stacked', but makes them full vertical.

I do not think I had this problem in Inventor 2019.

Hi! This could be related to DPI or Qt UI framework. Please try the followings.

1) Change the Windows display resolution and scaling to the recommended value.

2) Right-click on Inventor icon on the desktop -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change High DPI settings -> check both boxes.

3) Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables -> create "QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR" and set it to 0.

Please report back your findings.

Many thanks!

I have this issue now. Intermittently the browsers resize to the smallest possible size by themselves. Very annoying.

I have the "Model" tab and "Vault" tab docked to the left and the "ILogic" tab docked to the right on one monitor.

I don't expect a fix for my version of Inventor but I hope this is eliminated once my org upgrades to 2023 or 2024.
