Broken section views using issue

Hi all,

I would like to know if there is any easy way to perform a correct section view as shown in the picture. The issue when using the path AM is that the view shows a repited version of items tha have been already cut in the previous section direction. Please see the image attached for clarification. I would like the first half of the view, to show the conexion attached to the ellipitical head only and the other half of the section to show the conection with the 45º elbow. I this possible?

I'm not sure I am following you completely, but you can right click on the section arrows and choose "Edit Section Properties", and instead of a full section you can set it to "Distance". This allows you to control the section view depth.

If you have components that you don't want to be sectioned, you and remove the section participation of that item by finding it in the browser > Right click > Section participation >None. This makes the component not be sectioned in the view.

Hi Andres,

Based on the image, I believe the section you created is called Aligned Section View. Basically, it rotates the section faces so that both sides are open on the same plane.

I guess you are trying to see the actual pie section, right? You may need Slice view. I don't think Aligned Section View is what you are looking for.

Thanks both of you for your help. johnsonshiue That's exactly what I want to see, the section pie of the vessel showing 2 misaligned connections. Conections are misaligned by 15º and I want to see both section pie in the same view instead of creating 2 different sketchs and 2 different views, does it makes sense?

Unfortunately I cannot send anything from my laptop due to my company policies. How can I do a Slice View in inventor, I am not so sure which option to click on to do this.

Hi Andres,

I think you do want to create Aligned Section View, so Slice View does not apply in this case then. One thing I notice is the section lines. The vertical segment does not go all the way. Could you make it longer so it cut the components properly?
