bom sorted by filename, parts list sorted by filename do not match?

we are having trouble sorting the parts list in certain dwg's in Inventor by filename. the model and when you the dwg when you click on bill of materials they both match but, when you edit the parts list and sort by filename it does not match??

Hello!  Can you share some screen shot as an example?

the 1st pic is the bom in the drawing

the one below is the partslist both sorted by filename.

I know i can sort by item number in the partslist to make them the same but I think that might mess something up in vault

when we create a work book. most times we do not have this problem.

Hi Scott,

Without seeing the actual Inventor files, I can only speculate. This may have something to do with "Sort by string" and "Sort numerically" option in the BOM dialog. Open the assembly and go to BOM -> Sort -> expand the dialog. It is probably sorted by string.

I did not know that was under the options.  That solved my issue.
