BoM Renumbering

Is there a setting to re-enable the ability to renumber a section of a Bill of Material?  The ability has been disabled.  The situation is that I am adding a few custom part lines to the BoM on the assembly print (duplicate models, but different configurations).

I know we used to be able to do it, and noticed the change a while ago, but Ive been forgetting to post the question.  Currently you can only renumber the full list, and then manually renumber the lines before the inserted line items.  Renumbering Selected Rows is greyed out.

Hi Richard,

I guess the "Renumber item numbers sequentially automatically" option is turned on. Go to the BOM table and click on the gear button (2024 or earlier) or click on the button on the far right (2025 or later).

Many thanks!

Looks like they got rid of the config gear in 2026, its now a loose button.  I was able to find it after you mentioned the config entry name.RENUMBER.jpg

For those that want to know the other buttons from left to right are:

Show/Clear model data

Part number row merge settings

Update Mass Properties

Create Virtual Component

Hide/show zero quantity rows

Automatic Re-Numbering Sequentially

Did earlier versions have the Create Virtual Component in the BoM table?  I've only noticed it in the Parts List table.

Thanks,

Rich C.
