BOM Export and QTY Issue with sub-assy

I have a weldment that shows it's being used 4 times but then parts under that weldment one show enough parts to make it once.  Example a brace weldment has (1) formed piece and (2) end pads, but it should show 8 formed pieces and and 8 end pads.

How do I get the QTY's under the weldment to show need?

Hi

Have you activated the structured / parts only BOM?

What are you trying to do in the BOM view?

Is there some reason you need to call out 4 of the weldment and at the same time the totals of all of the parts for those 4 weldments?

Hello, this actually looks correct to me based only on the image.  The BOM is showing that you want (4) of those sub-assembly weldments, and that each one consists of (1) formed piece and (2) end pads.  This is being shown as an indented BOM, so that would be right.  I think if you wanted the total number of each component piece, you would need Parts Only.... but then you may not see the Weldment itself, only the pieces it is made of.

What version of Inventor are you using for this?

You could go to the Parts Only tab (where you wouldn't see the assembly)

Or you could make the assembly Phantom (and you wouldn't see it there either)

But those options will show the total number of pieces as 4 and 8

Hi! Another way to do it is to open the Weldment subassembly and go to Tools -> Doc Settings -> BOM -> BOM Structure -> change it from Inseparable to Normal. Or you may change it in the BOM dialog in the top-level assembly.

Many thanks!

As said above, this is how the Structured tab works, it is showing you what's needed for a single assembly. See the Parts only for full QTY.
